Free Jiu Jitsu instructional by Masakazu Imanari

Who is Masakazu Imanari?

Masakazu Imanari is one of the most notable trendsetters of the leg lock game in the history of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. For many years, he was a true pioneer, using his aggressive and acrobatic leg attack game to crush his rivals. Thanks to the guys at Techniqly they have released a free Jiu Jitsu instructional by Masakazu Imanari. Now you can learn his best moves with this refreshingly efficient instructional.

Imanari may not speak English very well, but he does not need to as the demonstrations are very clear and at multiple angles. The guys at Techniqly have also added subtitles which is a nice addition and very handy. As an added bonus the instructional is free to anyone who registers an account at Techniqly.

How to perform an Imanari roll

Who better to show how to do an Imanari roll than the man himself? Here is Masakazu Imanari showing Bernardo Faria how to do an Imanari roll. This is one of the most effective entries into the leglock system and one which I have tried (and failed!) thousands of times!

If you liked the free instructional from Masakazu Imanari you may want to check out a few others which are available on Techniqly.

One to One with Chris Haueter – Closed guard

A closed guard masterclass from one of the original ‘Dirty Dozen’. Chris was one of the first 12 practitioners outside of Brazil to receive their black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu way back in 1996. It is safe to say that Chris has forgotten more about BJJ than I will ever know in my lifetime. Check out Haueter’s instructional below

Lauri & Elvira Karrpinen – Rubber guard / Truck license

This is a unique double value instructional from husband and wife duo Lauri and Elvira Karrpinen. These guys are two of the best-known instructors and competitors in Europe. They are both black belts under Eddie Bravo’s 10th Planet system. They are also black belts in the gi under Magnuss Hanson. So they are pretty handy in both styles of Jiu Jitsu.

In this instructional, ADCC medallist Elvira covers many of her favourite moves from the Rubber Guard. In addition to this Lauri gives plenty of useful and unique insights on the Truck position. Both positions are popular in the 10th Planet system and highly effective control positions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
